LEGO Ideas Friends 21319 Central Perk quick-build video

The LEGO Group has celebrated the launch of the new Friends set with a video showing 21319 Central Perk assembling.

A fun new animated snippet has been released online that shows LEGO Ideas Friends 21319 Central Perk coming together. In the digital animation, Ross Geller, Rachel Green, Chandler Bing, Monica Geller, Joey Tribbiani and Phoebe Buffay are sitting around – only to find Central Perk suddenly assembling around them.

For the eagle-eyed who spotted that Rachel’s hair in the video does not match that shown in the official images, LEGO Vice President of Design reassured fans on Twitter: “Oooopsy! Just spotted Rachel is wearing the wrong wig in this video:/ Our bad:/ She will come with a hair style that looks much closer to ‘the Rachel’ in the real set!”

Yesterday, the LEGO Group revealed the official model for Friends 21319 Central Perk, a set that has been inspired by a fan design that was supported by 10,000 people online before being approved by the LEGO Ideas review panel.

“The challenge was to visualize passages of the series to allow me to recreate the furniture and the characters in as much detail as possible. The assembly of this model took me about a week after finding the necessary references,” said fan designer Aymeric Fievet, who submitted the project to the LEGO Ideas platform.

2019 marks the 25th anniversary of the show’s launch.

The set will be released on September 1 exclusively at shop.LEGO.com.
