LEGO Ideas fan designers can now submit designs based on over 250 new IPs
LEGO Ideas fan designers will now have more choice about what existing IPs they can base their would-be sets on, thanks to a new and expanded list.
Select IPs can already be used as inspiration for fan-designed LEGO builds submitted to LEGO Ideas, offering fans the chance to submit an idea about their favourite movie, book, or other intellectual property. Now, the LEGO Ideas team has expanded its bank of approved IPs by more than 250 properties.
“These freshly approved IPs are immediately available for use when you submit a product idea,” the announcement reads. “These new additions open a whole new world of creative freedom, so now’s the perfect time to revisit your favourite ideas—or dream up some new ones—and bring them to the table.”
The team has also promised that this announcement will be paired with a new challenge, coming this Friday, December 6. It will perhaps be similar to the ’80s IP challenge that ran in March of this year that resulted in terauma‘s Gizmo from Gremlins and Delusion Brick‘s The Goonies (1985) joining the LEGO Ideas theme.
While the LEGO Ideas team hasn’t published a list of all 250 new IPs that are available, if you have a specific IP in mind, you can check if it’s approved using the in-built, drop-down checker. Simply click through to submit an idea on LEGO Ideas, then ‘Yes, it’s based on an existing IP,’ and type the name of the IP into the box.

I don’t know if this is one of the new IPs, but I checked Alien (which wasn’t available) and noticed alien vs. predator is available. Therefore we could get a xenomorph in a LEGO set. Somebody make this happen, please.
