The LEGO Group has responded to last night's crypto scam on the official online store and what they intend to do to avoid this in the future.
As reported earlier today, an unofficial AI-generated banner appeared on the official online store last night, or yesterday in the US, promoting a cryptocurrency to unaware shoppers. As suspected, the LEGO Group has confirmed that this was the result of unauthorised access but has reassured enthusiasts that the situation is now under control.

In a statement provided to Engadget, the LEGO Group issued the following response to the hack.
"On 5 October 2024 (October 4 evening in the US), an unauthorised banner briefly appeared on LEGO.com. It was quickly removed, and the issue has been resolved. No user accounts have been compromised, and customers can continue shopping as usual. The cause has been identified and we are implementing measures to prevent this from happening again."
While the LEGO Group states that user accounts have not been compromised, you can change your password should you prefer to play it safe by heading to the account settings page on the official online store.
