LEGO official online shop seemingly hacked in crypto scam
The LEGO Group’s online store was briefly hacked in an apparent crypto scam, with an AI-generated banner appearing on the official website for a short period of time.
Appearing at around 2am (UK time), the banner was clearly AI-generated and has now been taken down but was first screenshotted by several people in the LEGO community. It featured LEGO logos and golden minifigures, promoting a ‘LEGO coin’ and linking to a separate marketplace where you could buy ‘LEGO Tokens’ with ETH.
There is no indication that this has any genuine connection to the LEGO Group and seems likely to be a crypto scam from an external source, especially considering the speed with which the banner was taken down. We’d certainly advise against buying any of these supposed LEGO tokens if you come across the marketplace through other means.

The site has now been restored and the LEGO Group has been contacted for comment on the situation. There’s no indication that there’s been any sort of data breach that would affect customers, but if you wanted to be extra safe, you could change your password for your LEGO account and keep an eye on any bank accounts associated with the LEGO online shop.
