LEGO Jurassic Park 30th anniversary set offers a minifigure first

There’s a long-overdue minifigure first hidden away amongst today’s reveal of five upcoming LEGO Jurassic Park 30th anniversary sets.

The LEGO Group has revealed it will be celebrating Jurassic Park’s 30th anniversary in 2023 with a line-up of five sets drawing their inspiration from Steven Spielberg’s movie masterpiece. The models are based around a number of key scenes from the 1993 film, recreating specific moments with brick-built vehicles, a variety of impressive dinosaurs and multiple minifigures.

Speaking of the latter, whilst there may be one-too-many Dr Ellie Sattlers included for our liking, many of the characters included with the upcoming sets have at least been updated with new torso prints and alternative faces. However, buried in today’s announcement is one character from the franchise who’s never appeared in minifigure form – Robert Muldoon.

Played by actor Bob Peck, Jurassic Park’s game warden tragically met his maker when ambushed by a vicious velociraptor. Remembered mostly for one of the movie’s most memorable lines (‘clever girl’), Muldoon is finally included with 76957 Velociraptor Escape, alongside one of the many Dr Ellie Sattler minifigures. The character comes with his trademark scowl, hat, vest and gun, with a simple leg print representing the game warden’s tropical island-appropriate shorts and socks look.
