LEGO KOTOR clip has got Star Wars fans wanting more

A fan-made edit imagining what Knights of the Old Republic could look like when made out of LEGO has got fans of the retro game thinking.

Following the success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, could now be the time for other iconic Star Wars eras to get the LEGO treatment? Probably not, but a fan can dream! One creative lover of the game, u/RavenProton, has gone one step past dreaming and created the explosive opening sequence of KOTOR in LEGO style.

As well as recreating the ships and explosions out of LEGO bricks, she has also brightened the background, putting it in a style closer to the bright, stylised LEGO games.

The clip, although brief, has sparked the appetites of long-time Star Wars fans, leaving them wanting more of a brick-built recreation of the game. After all, the long-promised remake doesn’t seem to be getting any closer.

“I’d play the hell out of LEGO KOTOR,” commented one Reddit user. “A toned down style of the Skywalker Saga formula – that game was… a bit too much for me.”

“A LEGO texture mod would be possible for KOTOR, however, the models would be more complicated to do and they’d need completely new animations as well,” added another. “Would be nice though.”

RavenProton has also rendered examples of some beloved KOTOR characters in a separate post. With the game set four thousand years before the Star Wars movies and therefore the Skywalker Saga, these are all characters that we haven’t seen officially created in LEGO yet. For now, these renders are incredibly well-detailed, ranging from Canderous Ordo’s square hair-do to Bastila Shan and Revan’s iconic showdown.
