LEGO Lord of the Rings is finally back – and ready to buy right now

It’s a new year and the best year for Lord of the Rings fans – because LEGO The Lord of the Rings is finally back.

It’s been almost ten years since we last saw releases for LEGO The Lord of the Rings, but now the theme is back…to a possibly underwhelming start. The only confirmed LEGO The Lord of the Rings builds are three BrickHeadz pairs, featuring Frodo and Gollum, Gandalf the Grey and Balrog, and Arwen and Aragorn.

The Lord of the Rings theme has arguably always been an underserved area for the LEGO Group, with just 16 sets died to the two trilogies of films. The first waves of sets spanned both the Lord of the Rings movies and the Hobbit films and, while the sets have a certain nostalgic feel, we’re hoping to see what we can be done with the source material with modern building techniques and newer elements.

Here’s a reminder of all the details for the confirmed Lord of the Rings sets.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
