LEGO Marvel summer 2024 price changes rumoured: ups and downs

A handful of LEGO Marvel’s summer 2024 sets are now rumoured to be priced a little higher or lower than originally expected, and most of the changes are actually pretty favourable.

LEGO sets and price changes are historically not happy bedfellows for consumers – see the LEGO Group’s widespread price increases in 2022 – but the price tags for the rumoured LEGO Marvel summer 2024 sets are apparently moving in the right direction in a few cases. Clay_Bricks reports on reddit that seven of the upcoming LEGO Marvel sets have shifted slightly in price, with the majority actually coming down a little.

Three sets are said to have increased in price, though, including 76286 The Milano (+$10 to $179.99), 76287 Iron Man vs. Hulk (+$4 to $14.99) and 76289 Surtur Battle (+$5 to $29.99). Those prices are all in US dollars, but will presumably be reflected in other currencies too if and when these sets launch. The good news is that four of the other sets currently believed to be arriving in August have travelled in the other direction.

76288 Iron Legion Battle Pack was originally rumoured to cost $24.99 for just 135 pieces and four minifigures – Iron Man, two Iron Legion suits and a Hydra agent – but is now believed to come in at $19.99, matching the price tag for recent smaller LEGO Star Wars battle packs (such as 75359 332nd Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper Battle Pack). 76290 Avengers vs Loki & Leviathan, meanwhile, is now slated to retail for $49.99 rather than $59.99.

76291 The Avengers Assemble: Age of Ultron has had a similar price cut, coming down from $109.99 to just $99.99, while 76297 Dancing Potted Groot is now thought to cost just $44.99 – or a $15 decrease from its initial rumoured price tag of $59.99. Whether the contents of any of these sets has changed as a result of these shifting price tags has not been disclosed at this stage.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
