LEGO Marvel Brickverse reveals 40,000-piece life-size Iron Man suit
A brick-built life-size Iron Man suit constructed from 40,000 pieces has been showcased as the first in a series of LEGO Marvel Brickverse challenges.
A full video for the LEGO Marvel Brickverse was recently-revealed, although there were few details available regarding exactly what it was for at the time. The smart money was on a potentially new promotional campaign based around the theme, which now seems to have been the case.
The official LEGO YouTube channel has dropped a new video today, highlighting the LEGO Marvel Brickverse with a very unique and impressive model. Host Preston (aka streaming celebrity PrestonPlayz) reveals that this is the first of what will be a series of challenges for LEGO builders around the world to use their creative superpowers to assemble heroic builds.
The proclaimed Marvel superfan then introduces former toy designer and mechanical engineer James Bruton, who’s tasked with building a six feet tall Iron Man armoured suit from a mountain of LEGO bricks. Roughly 40,000 elements (weighing over 121 KG) were utilised in the life-size model, which was constructed around a sturdy metal frame, so that the build won’t get pulled over when it’s on display.
Around that central core, James placed a selection of Technic pieces for support, followed by basic structures for the suit’s arms, legs, torso, shoulders and head. Numerous LEGO tiles and sloped element were then added to complete the exterior and give the Marvel build a more polished look.

In addition, seven Powered-Up motors were used to physically move some parts of the Iron Man model, such as the helmet’s faceplate and various opening flaps, plus illuminated eyes, an Arc Reactor in the suit’s chest and repulsors in the hands.
There’s no word on when, where or even if the life-size Iron Man suit will appear on display for fans to get up close and personal with, nor are there any hints as to when we can expect the next LEGO Marvel Brickverse challenge to drop.
However, a brief montage of potential upcoming builds can be glimpsed at the beginning of the promotional video, including Captain America’s shield, an epic Avengers: Endgame battle scene and more LEGO Marvel Brickverse models to come.
