LEGO Marvel X-Mansion expansions extend the build in all directions

Fan-designed expansions for LEGO Marvel 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion are starting to surface, expanding the build in every possible direction.

It was only a matter of time before LEGO Marvel 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion received fan-designed expansions and now, five days into its release, the set has enough expansion to extend the models’ height, depth and width.

While no one has found a way to integrate 5009015 Cerebro into the model just yet, those hoping to fit the X-Mansion into their modular street but worried about its scale and size have a myriad of options to customise the official design after you’ve fixed some intentionally broken parts.

Add an extra floor

One option to expand 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion that we pitched last month is to add an extra floor to the mansion, resolving concerns about the cramped interior while modifying the height to be on the same level as the other modular buildings.

Bardicbricks, Brick Artisan (with some incorrect colours) and MiniSuperHeroesToday have all proposed some designs for a third floor. Their proposals vary one key way though with one opting for a larger window, one opting for a more familiar window design and the other featuring no window respectively.

Expand the footprint

Bardicbricks offers a more unique expansion option on Rebrickable too, expanding the footprint of the mansion to take up more space on a modular street.

Their custom design on Rebrickable offers something different than every other fan-made expansion to 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion available at the time of writing In turn, this expands the width of the mansion to 64 studs rather than the 48 in the official set.

Add a courtyard

Alternatively, Kuragari1 has another option, adding a courtyard to the 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion to extend the overall footprint of the mansion while keeping the model directly off the street.

In-turn, it expands the garden portion of the model to be more accurate to the film and Kuragari1 has two designs available on Rebrickable depending on whether you want to keep the mansion in a modular city display or as a standalone model.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
