LEGO May the 4th 2026 buyers’ guide

From a slate of new gifts-with-purchase to new set releases, in-store events and more, here’s everything you need to know going into this year’s LEGO Star Wars May the 4th event.

Star Wars Day is upon us, which is actually more like Star Wars Week for the LEGO Group. As always, this year’s event will encompass brand new set releases and exclusive gifts-with-purchase at LEGO.com, alongside limited-time offers at third-party retailers. In short, there’s a lot going on, so we’ve broken down everything that matters about May the 4th right here.

From every freebie up for grabs this year to a reminder of which LEGO Star Wars sets are about to retire, here’s your guide to May the 4th 2026…

When is LEGO May the 4th 2026?

This year’s official LEGO May the 4th event runs from May 1 to 6 at LEGO.com, with offers available for the duration (or while stocks last).

LEGO May the 4th 2026 new sets

A full wave of LEGO Star Wars sets landed on the official online store on April 26, just in time for May the 4th, and takes in everything from The Mandalorian & Grogu to… The Mandalorian & Grogu. And, you know, fair enough, the movie’s right around the corner. But don’t forget the start of the LEGO Star Wars Bust Collection, either, with Darth Vader and Yoda also available now.

Landing on May 1 for LEGO Insiders, meanwhile, is 75442 The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter. This Ultimate Collector Series set is your flagship May the 4th release for 2026, and will immediately qualify for no fewer than two gifts-with-purchase. (More on those below.) The 1,809-piece set includes Din Djarin and Grogu minifigures, along with 53 drum-lacquered silver elements.

LEGO May the 4th 2026 gifts-with-purchase

The main LEGO Star Wars gift-with-purchase this May the 4th is 40917 The Darksaber, a brick-built hilt that joins previous GWPs like 40730 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber and 40483 Luke Skywalker’s Lightsaber (those are different weapons, just to note). It will be yours with all LEGO Star Wars purchases above £145 in the UK, $160 in the US and €160 in Europe.

Elsewhere, 75442 The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter will score you an exclusive, set-specific 5010320 The Mandalorian and Grogu Display, while 30728 The Razor Crest is free with LEGO Star Wars orders above £35 / $40 / €40. Only selected LEGO Star Wars sets will count towards that polybag, though – and UCS sets aren’t among them, so the N-1 won’t get you the full trio.

What should I buy on May the 4th 2026?

LEGO Star Wars 75327 AT TE Walker lifestyle featured

Our recommendations for May the 4th 2026 are twofold. First, have you caught up on your wishlist of current sets? If not, those are probably the ones to target, especially if you spot any of them on sale. Keep an eye on retiring sets – our top picks include 75337 AT-TE Walker, 75347 TIE Bomber and 75356 Executor Super Star Destroyer – and early deals on recent releases, such as 75449 Siege of Mandalore Battle Pack and 75440 AT-AT.

LEGO Star Wars 75460 X wing Starfighter featured

If your attention is purely on new stuff, however, this is probably the best time to buy 75442 The Mandalorian’s N-1 Starfighter thanks to the gifts-with-purchase up for grabs. (Otherwise, best to wait for a discount a few months down the line.) If that UCS set isn’t doing it for you, our favourite sets in the April range are 75460 New Republic X-wing Starfighter, 75439 Darth Vader Bust and 75447 The Razor Crest.

Whatever you aim for this May the 4th, our major recommendation above all else is qualifying for 40917 The Darksaber. It’s one of the best LEGO Star Wars gifts-with-purchase in recent years, right up there with last year’s similarly excellent (for different reasons) 40765 Kamino Training Facility. Check out our hands-on review here.

Going out of your way to get 30728 The Razor Crest isn’t quite as pressing – if you end up with it from the sets you were going to buy anyway, then great, but there will probably be other opportunities to add it to your collection without buying something for the sake of it. Best to use that budget on discounted LEGO Star Wars sets at third-party retailers.

LEGO May the 4th 2026 in-store events

Want to celebrate Star Wars Day in person? There are various in-store events and giveaways going on at retailers around the world, alongside designer signings at LEGO Stores in London and Munich. You’ll find all the details on those over on our May the 4th hub.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
