LEGO is creating a MCU-style universe with its Christmas ads
Katy Perry is back with another LEGO Group holiday advert, this time taking place before the first one in a MCU-style timeline.
Just like Marvel, the LEGO Group is apparently trying to build out a wider universe for the 2022 holiday ads, with the latest commercial showing the build-up to the singalong featured in the first one. Plus, the company is packing a ton of references into them for fans to pick up on.
In the latest video ad, we see a group of children letting their imaginations run wild building a brick-built scene. Katy Perry and a team of workmen are affected by every new element the kids add, with various eclectic objects and animals popping up all around them.
After this intro, the ad then reverts back to much of the same scenes from the first ad. However, the different intro gives us a bit more backstory as to what the kids are building in the first place: the perfect Christmas.
We’ve also been building the perfect LEGO Christmas at Brick Fanatics, with a number of gift guides decide for anyone, from a minifigure collector to a newbie builder, and any budget, from £50 to unlimited.
