LEGO The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith only includes two new elements

Despite its massive size and unique scale, the 8,278-piece LEGO Icons 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith only comes with two new moulded elements.

A third gigantic Middle-earth model will emerge next month in the shape of the upcoming 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith. The LEGO Icons set measures over 59cm tall, 62cm wide and 37cm deep, and is comprised of a whopping 8,278 pieces, yet only two of those parts have been specifically created for the build, as confirmed in a recent livestream with Senior Model Designer François Zapf.

The first is Aragorn’s new moulded wig with crown piece, which represents the character’s transformation from humble Ranger of the North to King Elessar. The Lord of the Rings minifigure is further enhanced with printing on his armoured breastplate, arms and legs, as well as a new torso print to be found underneath.

The second new piece to be introduced in 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith is the helmet worn by the four soldiers of Gondor. The first-ever minifigures of the characters make their debut in the LEGO Icons set and come complete with their own armour print and a unique torso print beneath.

Beyond those two pieces, there are no other new elements included in 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith, which may come as something of a surprise to builders who are looking forward to spending hours assembling the huge LEGO Icons model.

However, one note of comfort may come from the fact that there are actually no stickers included in 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith whatsoever. That means more exclusive printed pieces appear throughout the set, which should be a relief for those planning to splash some serious cash on the premium product.

LEGO Insiders will be able purchase 11377 The Lord of the Rings: Minas Tirith from June 1, 2026, and everyone else can snag it from June 4. The LEGO Icons set has a £579.99 / €649.99 / $649.99 price tag and includes 40893 The Lord of the Rings: Grond as a GWP from June 1 to June 7, while stocks last.
