Available at LEGO.com now, the set uses new LEGO Powered Up elements, taking the theme to a new level technologically while still offering the robotics and coding experience that sparks the creativity of fans.

The 949 piece set is priced at £329.99 in the UK and $359.99 in the US. For those who haven’t got the spare cash to order the set today, Brick Fanatics is giving three copies away to three lucky winners.

51515 Robot Inventor offers five different designs for fans to build, which can them be programmed via the MINDSTORMS Robot Inventor app. Beyond the five models with instructions, there are coding challenges to complete that will require users to apply the skills they have learned through the process. Drag-and-drop coding teaches the process, with Python included for advanced coders.

Senior Vice President Lena Dixen and Senior Design Manager Dan Meehan introduced the set during LEGO Fan Media Days.

“In developing the product, we looked back at what has made MINDSTORMS great for all these years. Why do kids and adults love the product and continue to build and code amazing creations? What had previous MINDSTORMS generations and products done well, and where could we improve and enhance the experience? Very quickly in our journey we settled on two things that were really important. One was robotics and the other was open creativity,” said Senior Design Manager Dan Meehan when unveiling the new set.
