LEGO minifigures not to miss before their sets retire

Hundreds of LEGO sets are retiring in a couple of months, provided they haven’t sold already, and some have some desirable minifigures.

As we mention every month, many LEGO models are scheduled to retire at the end of the year. However, some are starting to sell out completely on LEGO.com despite us being a couple of months out from the end of the year. You can keep track of the retiring LEGO sets with our dedicated page.

Some of these sets feature specific minifigures that are unlikely to see the light of day again, from the only James Bond minifigure to some based on a popular streaming series with a second season on the way.

While you might want to risk waiting for Black Friday or the next big LEGO deal, keep these LEGO sets in mind thanks in no small part to their exclusive and appealing minifigures that we’re unlikely to see again.

5 – James Bond and Dominic Toretto

Both 76911 007 Aston Martin DB5 and 76912 Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger R/T are scheduled to retire at the end of 2023. These LEGO Speed Champions sets feature some of the only minifigures for the Fast & Furious and James Bond franchises. Though more movie cars are on the table, the LEGO Group may not be returning to these specific characters anytime soon.

4 – Winnie the Pooh and friends

LEGO Ideas 21326 Winnie the Pooh is retiring at the end of 2023 too with four exclusive minifigures based on the classic stories from the Hundred Acre Wood. The Eeyore element is worth pointing out too as well as the homely build.

3 – Andor’s only minifigures

Andor’s only LEGO set is retiring at the end of the year at the time of writing featuring a trio of exclusive minifigures based on the series. 75338 Ambush on Ferrix includes Cassian Andor, Luthen Rael and Syril Karn ahead of its upcoming Season 2. Despite being confirmed to have a second season early on, Loki has received no sets or minifigures since the two in 71031 Marvel Studios. Just in case, you might not want to wait on 75338 Ambush on Ferrix.

2 – PlayStation’s Aloy

As the only LEGO set to be wholly based on a PlayStation game, 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck includes just one minifigure – Aloy. She was ranked as our top minifigure of 2022 and considering the source material, detail and exclusive element, it’s not hard to see why.

1 – Iconic bounty hunter Cad Bane

With another instalment of The Bad Batch on the way, there’s still no guarantee that more LEGO sets based on the Star Wars series will be released. The chances of Cad Bane appearing again may be slim too. Thankfully, 75323 The Justifier includes the iconic bounty hunter with a unique hat element as well as a Todo 360 piece.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
