LEGO Minifigures Series 29 spotlight: Unicorn Elf
One of 71052 Series 29’s costumed characters shines thanks to the inclusion of the largest accessory included with the LEGO Collectible Minifigures line-up.
An all-new selection of 12 different LEGO Collectible Minifigures drops on May 1, with 71052 Series 29 bringing with it a wide range of fresh-faced costumed characters to track down. That upcoming line-up includes the Unicorn Elf, a fantasy-based character that essentially replaces what tends to be a semi-regular Classic LEGO Castle minifigure, and is one that comes with a particularly impressive accessory.

The Unicorn Elf herself boasts subtle printing on the front and back of her outfit, as well as a double-sided head print, topped off with a hair piece complete with silver tiara and a cup accessory, and is a character that would fit right in with almost any existing LEGO The Lord of the Rings sets.
Speaking of accessories, it’s ultimately the unicorn figure that comes with the 71052 Series 29 character that proves to be the highlight of this minifigure, with the creature having debuted in 2025’s 31175 Unicorn Castle and now offered here in an all-new colourway.

Not only does the white animal figure’s mane perfectly match the colour of the Unicorn Elf’s hair piece (which is a subtle touch), but the fantasy creature comes with a separate pearlescent horn element, which can always be removed to make a foal instead.
What may prove to be a highly-desirable part could also potentially come in handy for all sorts of possible future builds and fan creations, such as underwater coral or perhaps utilised for a decorative finish on a modular building project.
The LEGO Collectible Minifigures design team talked to Brick Fanatics about the use of specific colours in 71052 Series 29 at last year’s Fan Media Days event (which you can watch here), revealing the thought process behind the creation of such characters as the Unicorn Elf and her accessories.
“It’s not just important to have the different themes,” explained Graphic Designer Tore Magelund Harmark-Alexandersen, “it’s also important to have a good colour balance.”

“We’ve had many concepts and overviews, we work very visually, and we can always see if there’s a colour missing. Sometimes a character that was almost in there just can’t be because it has a colour that doesn’t fit. So, it’s a multi-complex puzzle.”
That diversity may well end up being 71052 Series 29’s biggest selling point, with a wide range of minifigures and new elements resulting in fans wanting to add plenty of the upcoming characters and pieces to their own LEGO collections come launch day.
You’ll be able to pick up Unicorn Elf and her unicorn companion when 71052 Series 29 is released on May 1, with each blind box priced at £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99.
