LEGO named in TIME100’s Most Influential Companies list

The LEGO Group has been included in TIME100’s list of the Most Influential Companies, rewarding its contribution to global culture.

The LEGO Group has been named in the the fifth annual TIME100 Most Influential Companies list, with the company’s contribution to global culture recognised as part of the inaugural TIME100 Companies Impact Awards. The list highlights companies that make an impact around the world, evaluating a variety of key factors like impact, innovation, ambition, and success.

“This recognition is a testament to the passion, creativity, and dedication of our colleagues all over the world,” said the LEGO Group in a statement on the list. “They have helped our brand remain strong globally, appeal to and welcome families regardless of their interests, play our part in building a sustainable future, and celebrate our fans and the power of LEGO® play on many different occasions around the world.”

TIME noted the LEGO Group’s success in growing at a time while the toy market is facing struggles, as well as acknowledging its growing adult market as a factor in its growth. LEGO Botanicals, The Lord of the Rings, and 10256 Taj Mahal all got callouts for attracting older LEGO fans.

In terms of impact, TIME complimented the LEGO Foundation, through which the LEGO Group funds science and engineering education and research, and charitable endeavours to support children around the world, and the LEGO Group’s sustainability initiatives, like pushing to use paper bags instead of plastic and testing different types of LEGO bricks made from more sustainable materials.
