LEGO NINJAGO 2026 tease hints at anniversary plans
A LEGO NINJAGO panel at BrickWorld Chicago ended with a tease from an official designer, potentially hinting at the 15th anniversary plans.
LEGO NINJAGO designer Dimitrios Stanatis took the stage at the NINJAGO Brickworld Chicago panel this weekend, shared online by DuckBricks, ending the lengthy panel with a tease for what is to come for NINJAGO in 2026, when the theme is confirmed to be celebrating its 15th anniversary.
The teaser is small, but it depicts a two-by-two stud tile with a map printed on it, featuring four crosses for four items of interest. Longtime LEGO NINJAGO fans will be able to recognise this map and draw a connection between it and the 15th-anniversary plans.

This map tile is undoubtedly a remake of the map to the four Golden Weapons from the LEGO NINJAGO pilot season, which was included in a somewhat inaccurate form in 2011’s 2508 Blacksmith Shop. This new version much more closely matches the specific design from the animated series, placing the crosses in the correct locations, too.

This may be hinting at something for the 15th anniversary of NINJAGO next year, considering that the map itself is 15 years old next year. Notably, one of the four golden weapons appeared in a recent NINJAGO project, as well.
The new LEGO NINJAGO Legends: Monstrosity short series features a brief shot of the iconic Sword of Fire, which has been scattered in the Land of Monsters following The Merge. How the sword has been reforged after it was destroyed is unknown, but there have been no other weapons with that recognisable dragon head, likely meaning that this is the iconic sword.

The reappearance of this legendary weapon in Monstrosity just days before a tease linked to the weapons for 2026, and six months before the 15th anniversary, is a strange coincidence. It will be worth keeping this cameo in mind as we near 2026, in case Kai has to head back to the Land of Monsters.
In the meantime, you can watch or re-watch Monstrosity right now on YouTube for free, and 2026 is also confirmed to debut a new comic series, finally digging into the Serpentine War. With this tease, 2026 is looking to be an exciting year for LEGO NINJAGO fans.
