LEGO NINJAGO creator teases future lore twists

LEGO NINJAGO TV show creator Chris Wyatt has been answering some fan questions on X, dropping hints at some future twists in the lore.

After 15 seasons of LEGO NINJAGO, alongside several mini-movies, a special, a four-episode miniseries, and a theme park movie, years worth of twisting lore and history has been built up around LEGO NINJAGO. Much of it has come from the mind of Chris Wyatt, who goes by Doc Wyatt on X (formerly Twitter) and often responds to fans of the franchise.

Most recently on June 19, Chris replied to the following question: “What would happen to Lloyd’s power if he died? Would it stay with him or find a new host?” For those who don’t know, Lloyd is the legendary Green Ninja, also known as the Master of Energy. Until now, Lloyd was often presumed to be the first Master of Energy but Chris has now confirmed that the power would transfer onto a new host if he died.

Not only that but, when pressed on whether there were previous Energy Masters, Chris replied only: “Wait on this one.” Five minutes later in the same flurry of X replies, the NINJAGO creator gave a similar response to the question, “Does Lloyd know what his own elemental power is?”, writing: “What a good question this is. Hold onto it for a while.”

That seems to suggest that there is more to Lloyd’s power than meets the eye. While Lloyd took on the power of the Golden Ninja at one point, Chris’ answers would suggest there are more revelations about his elemental power and his role as Master of Energy to uncover. For now, we only have Chris’ cryptic comments.
