LEGO offers first look at new Jurassic World dinosaur in social media tease

The LEGO Group has teased the first look at an all-new LEGO Jurassic World dinosaur in a short clip shared to social media.

We had already been scouring the Jurassic World Rebirth trailer for any potential fodder for LEGO sets but the LEGO Group has gone one step further and given us our first proper look at one of the dinosaurs: a spinosaurus. With six rumoured LEGO Jurassic World set coming in 2025, this all but confirms some of those sets will be based on Rebirth.

The clip, shared to the LEGO Group’s official Instagram page, shows what appears to be a new minifigure, presumably depicting Scarlett Johanssen’s Zora Bennett, one of the main characters from the upcoming movie, standing in front of the classic Jurassic Park truck. Behind her, lightning flashes three times, illuminating the enormous form of the spinosaur passing through the trees behind her.

What’s especially exciting is a look at the printing for the newly moulded ridge along the back of the spinosaurus. It appears to feature some yellow, perhaps alongside brown – although it’s hard to tell in this lighting. The dinosaur also features red ‘scale’ printing along its head, resulting in a pretty impressively detailed LEGO dinosaur.

This will surely be the centrepiece of the LEGO Jurassic World summer wave – although who’s to say how many more dinosaurs, new or familiar, will make an appearance.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
