First LEGO Piece by Piece movie trailer officially revealed
The first trailer for Pharrell Williams’ Piece by Piece animated movie has been revealed, featuring a LEGO version of the artist’s life story to date.
Earlier this year, the LEGO Group, Pharrell Williams and Focus Features announced that they would be joining forces to release an animated movie about the music superstar’s life and rise to fame. Piece by Piece will be arriving on cinema screens around the world on October 11, 2024, and has been directed by Morgan Neville, with Williams not only starring in the film but also acting as one of its producers.
Focus Features has now revealed even more details of the upcoming movie, with the release of a first trailer for Piece by Piece. The footage features Williams in various minifigure forms (he’s already appeared on the official poster for the film) and a cast that includes other singing sensations such as Gwen Stefani, Kendrick Lamar, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, and Snoop Dogg.
The trailer for Piece by Piece also includes plenty of familiar tongue-in-cheek LEGO humour, while revealing how Williams began his journey from young music fan to global megastar. While comparisons with The LEGO Movie may seem obvious, the inclusion of existing and new music from Williams’ may ultimately give the movie a unique and distinctive voice all of its own.

Piece by Piece is described as ‘a unique cinematic experience that invites audiences on a vibrant journey through the life of cultural icon Pharrell Williams,’ one that’s being told through the lens of LEGO animation.
Piece by Piece will be released globally on October 11, 2024, with rumours suggesting the film might be getting at least one dedicated LEGO set at some point this year, although that remains speculation for now.
