LEGO Pirates fans will love at least a few One Piece rumours

The latest rumours for the One Piece theme should come as welcome news to LEGO Pirates fans with familiar concepts seemingly on the cards.

LEGO One Piece’s latest batch of rumours include model names, indicating that the likes of Foosha Village, the Going Merry and Baratie are getting sets later this year. Take it with a pinch of salt for now, but at least the Going Merry seems certain for a set given that it’s the crew’s main ship in the first season of the Netflix adaptation.

While One Piece fans have more than enough reasons to be excited (with caution) following these rumours, LEGO Pirates enthusiasts should welcome the reported names too as there could be some striking similarities between the stated sets and older LEGO Pirates models. Note that the following links are drawn purely in speculation at this point, however.

The rumoured 75636 Partys Bar, for example, seems likely to depict the island and water-based bar from the village of Foosha, possibly reminding Pirates fans of 6273 Rock Island Refuge – though on a reportedly much smaller scale with 301 elements. 75369 Going Merry is said to be much bigger with 1,376 pieces. The uniquely designed pirate ship would likely be a hit with LEGO Pirates enthusiasts should it receive an official set, as would any new pirate ship model.

It’s the rumoured 75640 Baratie that may be a surprisingly popular model with LEGO Pirates fans though with a reported piece count of 3,402. The floating restaurant has a stacked design with a wide base – similar to 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay despite the LEGO Ideas set depicting a shipwreck base. Even with the giant fish head at the front of Baratie, the rumoured model could be an interesting release for those missing LEGO Pirates.

Though there are two massive models in the LEGO BrickLink Designer Program, one of which is still to come, LEGO Pirates fans seem to be well-served later this year across the Tortuga creation, a rumoured Pirates of the Caribbean set and LEGO One Piece. An official product reveal for LEGO One Piece has yet to surface though, so take all LEGO rumours with caution until an announcement is made.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
