LEGO Pokémon trailer confirms target audience for first sets

A brand-new trailer for the first three LEGO Pokémon sets has clarified the target audience for these initial models – fans with bills to pay.

Coinciding with the reveal of the first three LEGO Pokémon sets earlier today, the LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company have partnered for a new trailer for the theme, making it clear who these first models are for. The trailer starts with shots of an adult making coffee before heading to work and quick glances at unpaid bills.

Looking past how relatable that might be for fans reading this, this solidifies the fact that 72151 Eevee, 72152 Pikachu and Poké Ball and 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise have been designed and possibly priced for older fans with disposable income. The trailer is available on LEGO.com, but has been re-uploaded to YouTube for easier viewing.

It's a fun trailer with some great animation, offering a closer look at the set ahead of their release next month. Pay close attention to the start of the trailer for the first code for the treasure hunt, as well.

While more Pokémon sets have not been officially confirmed, the landing page for the partnership has teased some aimed at a much younger audience. Two additional LEGO models are coming next month in the form of an exclusive gift-with-purchase and a miniature Pokémon Center available to LEGO Insiders, both labelled for older audiences.

The first three LEGO Pokémon sets are available to pre-order now, and you can secure the exclusive badge GWP early with pre-orders of 72153 Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise.
