LEGO Shrek Minifigures officially revealed

The LEGO Group has officially unveiled 71053 Shrek, the next series of blind-bagged minifigures arriving on shelves later this year.

Bringing a range of characters from the 25-year-old franchise to life as minifigures for the first time (plus a new variant of Puss in Boots), 71053 Shrek will follow hot on the heels of 72423 Shrek, Donkey & Puss in Boots on September 1, retailing for £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99 per box. The full line-up of mainline minifigures is as follows:

• Shrek
• Fiona
• Pinocchio
• Gingy
• Dragon
• Puss in Boots
• Thelonious
• Big Bad Wolf
• Merlin
• Lord Farquaad
• Fairy Godmother
• Prince Charming

Donkey and the three blind mice are also included as accessories alongside other characters: you’ll find Donkey with Fiona, and a blind mouse each with Pinocchio, Puss in Boots and Big Bad Wolf.

There are plenty of new prints and moulds across this series, which combines unique moulded heads (for Shrek, Fiona, Dragon and others) with standard minifigure parts (Lord Farquaad, Merlin, Prince Charming and more). And, as with every series for the past couple of years, we’re expecting these blind-boxed minifigures to include scannable codes on the bottom to identify who’s inside.
