LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog Crabmeat won’t be a GWP, but is coming soon

The mysterious LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog 40781 Badnik: Crabmeat is launching tomorrow, but it’s not going to be a gift-with-purchase after all.

40781 Badnik: Crabmeat was listed earlier this month as a gift-with-purchase, seemingly set to be offered alongside qualifying orders imminently. The latter half of this presumption has turned out to be correct, but the Sonic the Hedgehog model is not a gift-with-purchase.

The model is now listed as a LEGO Insiders reward launching tomorrow for 2,000 points. Click here to head to the LEGO Insiders Reward Centre when this model is available to redeem your points for it. You’ll need to redeem the reward via a provided code at checkout and purchase any item on the official online store to see it in your basket. Thankfully, tomorrow’s double points event will provide the perfect excuse to pick something up.

The set is valued at £12.99 / $14.99 / €14.99 (but you can’t buy it) with 181 pieces, depicting a figure of the Badnik and the Tocky character element with a display base inspired by Green Hill Zone too.

Here’s every LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog set rumoured and confirmed for 2025, now including the theme’s first LEGO Insiders-exclusive set. It’s free to sign up to LEGO Insiders and start earning points, as well as qualify for these exclusive sets. You can find out more about membership on our dedicated page.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
