LEGO 2024 Space CMF rumours are better than expected

More details are starting to emerge on the second series of LEGO Collectible Minifigures reportedly on the way in 2024, and they’re sounding even better than expected.

The LEGO Group traditionally debuts one in-house and two licensed series of Collectible Minifigures every calendar year, starting with a new selection of original characters before drawing from IPs. It’s rumoured to be mixing things up for 2024, however, swapping out the second series for another collection of homegrown minifigures – this time tied together by the common thread of space.

It’s territory the company is already exploring across City, DREAMZzz, Technic, Friends and more in 2023, and now that deep desire to push the boundaries of the known universe is about to permeate the Collectible Minifigures range, too – at least if the latest rumours are to be believed. And while word of a space-themed CMF series has been floating around for a while, a fresh list of included characters has given specific insight into what to expect.

In short: it’s far better than any of us could reasonably have expected or hoped for. Reading like a greatest hits of the LEGO Group’s space exploration over the past four or five decades, the dozen minifigures rumoured to be included in the next series of blind-boxed characters will likely have you rocketing over to your LEGO Store later in 2024.

We’ve broken down the entire list – and what each of them could actually look like – in our latest YouTube video, which is packed to the brim with nostalgic references, a model Matthew made when he was nine (it’s relevant, trust us) and a bag of sugar. (Also relevant… just.) Hit play below or head over to our YouTube channel to find out everything you need to know about the rumoured LEGO Space CMF series.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
