New LEGO Speed Champions 2025 rumours include Bugatti and Mitsubishi

Next year’s LEGO Speed Champions line-up is now rumoured to include the return of Bugatti and the debut of Mitsubishi – the latter of which may be another movie-inspired car.

While the bumper March 2025 wave of Speed Champions sets is believed to be anchored entirely to Formula 1, a later summer wave will apparently bring us a bigger variety of cars more in line with years past. Instagram user a.clay.brick reports (via DaveBricks1995, whose credibility you can read about here) that at least one of those sets will be a new Bugatti.

The French manufacturer has appeared only once before in the LEGO Speed Champions range, in 2017’s six-wide 75878 Buggati Chiron. There’s no word yet on which model the rumoured 2025 set may recreate, but given the theme has just started dipping its toes into eight-wide remakes of six-wide cars with 76934 Ferrari F40, it’s entirely possible that we could be getting a fresh take on the Chiron.

Update: FanKlockow have removed all information on the below LEGO Speed Champions set from their original post amidst a wave of other reportedly false rumours. As always, this is a reminder to treat all LEGO rumours with the utmost caution.

Elsewhere, Polish LEGO site FanKlockow claims that 77237 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX will be among the second wave of LEGO Speed Champions 2025 sets. While there are no more details than that to go on at the moment, Fast & Furious fans will recognise that specific car model as driven by Sean in Tokyo Drift. There’s a fair chance that this could therefore be a new movie-inspired Speed Champions set.

The theme briefly dipped its toes in that pool with 76911 007 Aston Martin DB5, 76912 Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger R/T and 76917 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34), but decided not to go back in the water in 2024 (despite a record number of cars landing on shelves this year). If it is the Fast & Furious Lancer, expect a red car with plenty of stickers.
