Three new LEGO Speed Champions sets rumoured for summer 2024

Three more LEGO Speed Champions sets are said to be racing on to shelves this summer, joining the four either rumoured or already revealed for March.

It’s becoming increasingly difficult to predict the release schedule for LEGO Speed Champions. Initially a one-wave wonder following its shift to eight-stud-wide cars in 2020, the racing line-up began adding new cars to its garage outside its usual March window in 2022, dropping two movie-inspired vehicles in August that year. A one-off Fast & Furious Nissan then debuted in January 2023, ahead of the usual wave in March.

2024 looks to be rewriting the rulebook again, as three more LEGO Speed Champions sets are now rumoured to be on the way in June, following the three (possibly four) on the cards for March. Among these are what appear to be two double-packs and a solo outing, based on their price tags and piece counts, though details on specific car manufacturers and models are nowhere to be seen at the moment.

76293 is said to retail at $26.99 for 230 pieces, while 76924 and 76925 are reported to come in at $49.99 apiece for 806 and 564 pieces respectively. The smaller set matches the price rises already confirmed for the earliest sets in 2024, including 76921 Audi S1 e-tron quattro and 76920 Ford Mustang Dark Horse, while the larger sets represent a further $5 increase on 76922 BMW M4 GT3 & BMW M Hybrid V8.

Given the sets that have so far debuted outside traditional LEGO Speed Champions release windows, there’s a fair chance that these three new June models – if they exist at all – could be a continuation of 76911 James Bond Aston Martin DB5, 76912 Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger R/T and 76917 2 Fast 2 Furious Nissan Skyline GT-R (R34). Which is to say that they could be inspired by silver-screen cars… just maybe.

These reports come from Instagram user 1414falconfan (via maxbautde), who’s usually very reliable, but remember that all rumours should still be taken with a grain of salt until we get official confirmation from the LEGO Group. For now, check out the table below for a full round-up of LEGO Speed Champions sets either already confirmed or at least rumoured for 2024.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
