LEGO Marvel Spider-Man 2025 set may hint at future mini modulars
There’s potential for a new series of future LEGO Marvel mini modular buildings, if an upcoming 2025 Spider-Man set is anything to go by.
A total of nine new LEGO Marvel sets were recently confirmed for 2025, with all of the superhero-based builds due to launch on January 1. Included in those upcoming releases for next year is the first-ever model based on the animated Spider-Verse series of Sony movies.
76311 Spider-Verse: Miles Morales vs. The Spot is a 375-piece set that’s available to pre-order right now, priced at what seems to be a slightly unreasonable £44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99. For that amount, fans will be getting four minifigures, a police car and a colourful brick-built convenience store.
While the latter is certainly visually impressive, 76311 Spider-Verse: Miles Morales vs. The Spot’s price point seems even more costly considering that the store is more of a façade and doesn’t even have a back wall or roof to it. However, closer inspection of the set reveals we might be looking at the first in what could be a potential new series of mini LEGO Marvel mini modular buildings.
There are a few clues to pick up on when looking at the official images of 76311 Spider-Verse: Miles Morales vs. The Spot. The first is that there are visible holes in three grey bricks located at key points around the base of the model, which would be ideal for adding in Technic pins to connect the set to something else.
The second is that the roof features the same grey two-stud tiles used on many LEGO Modular Buildings Collection and other building sets to attach additional floors. That could mean 76311 Spider-Verse: Miles Morales vs. The Spot has been left without a roof on purpose, potentially for adding a first floor section at a later date.
This also wouldn’t be the first time that the LEGO Marvel theme has released a model and then launched an add-on build further down the line. A precedent may have seemingly been set with the arrival of 76261 Spider-Man Final Battle in 2023, which was followed months later by 76280 Spider-Man vs. Sandman: Final Battle to complete one cohesive scene.
The possibilities for more LEGO Marvel mini modular buildings would certainly be very appealing and could potentially include the likes of Peter Parker’s apartment, Matt Murdock’s office, the Kingpin’s lair and Oscorp, although that’s pure speculation on our part.
