While the official LEGO Star Wars magazine usually boasts the best free gifts, its LEGO Spider-Man companion is giving it a run for its money right now.
As spotted by redmark_bricks, the latest issue of the LEGO Spider-Man magazine (numbered 22 in the UK) includes one of two collectors’ tins for the friendly neighbourhood web-slinger, mirroring an approach seen in the official LEGO Star Wars and DC titles. One of these is a generic Spider-Man head, while the other is apparently themed around LEGO Spider-Man (h/t Brick Fanatics reader Matt Craig).
Inside the tin is SH1020, or the Spider-Man minifigure from 2025’s 76314 Captain America: Civil War Battle – a LEGO Marvel set that’s retiring by the end of this month. That’s already a pretty good return for £7.99, and perhaps even more so when you consider that this is the first time a minifigure from the Marvel Cinematic Universe has appeared in the LEGO Spider-Man magazine.
So, Issue 22 is probably worth seeking out. But Issue 23 may be even more enticing – as confirmed by the preview in the back of the current issue, the next edition of the LEGO Spider-Man magazine will feature Hobgoblin from 76317 Peter Parker’s Apartment, complete with his orange hood and rubber cape (though with a simplified pumpkin bomb).
That minifigure currently fetches around £13 new on BrickLink, so the mag will be a much cheaper way to get your hands on it if you don’t fancy the full set. Better still, Hobgoblin will be accompanied by an exclusive glider build that uses the purple wing elements (Tail 4 x 1 with Pin Hole) from the long-since-retired 71431 Bowser's Muscle Car.
Presumably the LEGO Group isn’t keeping those pieces in production purely for this paper bag, so either there’s a bunch of leftover stock from the LEGO Super Mario range or they’re probably going to appear somewhere else down the line. Either way, the result is a glider that’s arguably more attractive than the one in 76317 Peter Parker’s Apartment.
Issue 22 of the LEGO Spider-Man magazine is on shelves now. Issue 23 will probably arrive sometime in September, as the Spidey mag tends to alternate every month with Avengers (both titles appear under the ‘LEGO Super Hero Legends’ banner).
