LEGO Star Trek Enterprise livestream reveals more set details
A LEGO Black Friday livestream has taken a deep dive into 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D to discover what secrets the set contains.
Despite Star Trek having existed as a franchise for nearly 60 years, it’s taken until 2025 for the first-ever LEGO Star Trek set to become a reality. Thankfully for fans, 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D will be launching on November 28 and has been featured in an all-new LEGO Black Friday livestream on the official website.
On hand at the event to discuss the upcoming LEGO Icons model was designer Hans Burkhard Schlömmer, who revealed just what went into the model and exactly what secrets are contained within the Galaxy-class vessel.

10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D took around 11 months to create and features a printed ship name and registry on top of the saucer, as well as printed windows around the elliptical command section utilising a new 1×12 element.
The saucer also boasts a circular phaser array on the upper part of 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D, although some have noted that it is curiously missing from underneath the command section.
During the presentation, Hans demonstrated exactly how the starship’s saucer can be detached from the separate stardrive section, by removing a small brick-built shuttlepod located behind the Enterprise’s removable hangar bay.
That mini Star Trek model is in fact an essential pin that holds the two parts of 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D together securely, allowing for the large saucer section to be detached and displayed next to the rest of the starship.

Underneath the command saucer is a sticker of the Captain’s Yacht, a craft that was mentioned in Star Trek: The Next Generation, but never appeared in the show, due to budgetary constraints.
Moving round to the front of 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D, the designer talked about the striking deflector dish array, with the LEGO Icons team taking a trans-blue cockpit and adding a unique print to one side of the piece, which was apparently ‘the most difficult element to create’ for the set.
The Black Friday livestream mentioned that other Easter eggs can be discovered while assembling 10356 USS Enterprise NCC-1701-D, such as a hidden bridge plaque, although no footage of that section was shown during the event.
The livestream ended with a special guest star beaming in, via a message from Commander William Riker himself, Jonathan Frakes. The actor talked about both his love for the Enterprise D in the show and his passion for LEGO sets, choosing one bearded minifigure in particular as his personal favourite.
