Possible LEGO Star Wars Ahsoka minifigure offers a chance for new lightsaber element
It’s not just Ahsoka’s clothing and lekku that could do with an update in any future LEGO Star Wars minifigure versions of the former Jedi.
A render on an upcoming LEGO Star Wars set has offered a first look at a possible updated minifigure for Ahsoka, including shortened lekku to match her updated live-action appearance, as well as clothing that is close to how she appears in her titular Disney+ show. However, off the back of the long-awaited darksaber, this could be an opportunity for the LEGO Group to reimagine its lightsaber element.
After leaving the Jedi Order, Ahsoka maintained that she was no longer a Jedi. As such, she does things a little differently from other well-known Jedi. This is part of the reason why she is so beloved by Star Wars fans: she captures the rebel spirit of Anakin Skywalker while still staying on the light side of the Force.
One characteristic in particular is her iconic curved white lightsabers. If the render pictured above is anything close to possible future minifigures, then we will have these white elements to reflect the signature colour of Ahsoka’s dual sabers. However, for true accuracy, we could also see a curved hilt element to really drive home how unique Ahsoka’s weapons are.
This would likely require a brand new element, with (almost) all other lightsabers being made from simple straight hilts. However, it’s not impossible; after all, we have minifigures holding curved bows (as with Robin Hood in the latest LEGO Disney Collectible Minifigures range). Ahsoka’s lightsabers have just a slight curve, designed to suit her signature fighting pose of holding one in front and one behind.
For now, we don’t know if or when an updated LEGO minifigure for Ahsoka will appear. However, rumours of other Ahsoka sets have been spotted and this Ahsoka minifigure has not been seen in a LEGO Star Wars set. Unless the design team made a brand new minifigure and brick for the box art, it’s entirely possible that an updated Ahsoka minifigure could be in the cards. Of course, we’ll have to wait until we get official confirmation from the LEGO Group until we know for sure.
