Early LEGO Star Wars Darth Vader Bust review is strong with the Force
The Force is apparently very strong with 75439 Darth Vader Bust, at least according to an early review of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars set that is.
The first of two LEGO Star Wars busts will be emerging from hyperspace next month, offering fans an all-new subtheme to start collecting. In addition to 75438 Yoda Bust there’s 75439 Darth Vader Bust, a 349-piece recreation of the Dark Lord of the Sith’s helmet and upper torso, a set that has already proven to be an overwhelming hit with one reviewer.
MandRproductions has taken an early look at the upcoming LEGO Star Wars build, revealing what works, what doesn’t and why 75439 Darth Vader Bust proves to be a must-have. That dive into the 2026 model covers everything from its price-to-piece count ratio, the set’s handful of printed elements, comparisons to previous offerings and multiple options for displaying the brick-built Sith Lord.
“I think the actual bust section looks beautiful,” said MandRproductions, “and can do maybe a bit more than you would imagine. It can be swivelled, so you can have him face a completely different direction, which can look a bit silly, until you realise you can turn the head.
“And now it actually could make a for a compelling display to change it up a little bit if you need to fit in a certain space or if you just want it to have a little bit more motion to it.”

Taking a closer look at the details of 75439 Darth Vader Bust, the reviewer notes that the LEGO Star Wars set comes with just three printed pieces, found on the front of the Sith Lord’s face mask, instead of the stickers in the now-retired 75304 Darth Vader Helmet, the overall smoothness and lack of gaps on the model, and the build’s ‘pronounced’ eyebrows, which use black wheel arches.
“Those elements weren’t the easiest to incorporate,” added 75439 Darth Vader Bust’s designer Aaron Newman on Instagram. “In fact, I think they’re what set the head’s 5-module core size! But once we saw the shape, we knew we had to use them.”

Also of note in 75439 Darth Vader Bust’s instruction manual is the ability to display the LEGO Star Wars set with just its printed information plaque placed at the front of the build or alternatively positioned to one side, with the model’s Darth Vader minifigure positioned on the other for a more balanced look.
In addition, the review mentions that the entire top section of 75439 Darth Vader Bust can be removed from its stand and displayed just like 75227 Darth Vader Bust, a 327-piece LEGO Star Was model that was released in 2019 as a Star Wars Celebration and Target exclusive.
75439 Darth Vader Bust will be launching on April 26, 2026, with the LEGO Star Wars set now available to pre-order priced at £44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99.
