Dozens of LEGO Star Wars fans left disappointed with cancelled AT-AT orders

LEGO Star Wars fans making the most of LEGO Insiders Weekend to snag a discount on the retiring 75313 AT-AT have been left disappointed by a foreboding email from the LEGO Group.

The LEGO Group’s annual Insiders Weekend offers exclusive discounts for members of its loyalty program, often including sets that are rarely discounted elsewhere. In 2024, that counted 75313 AT-AT among the number, reduced by 20% ahead of its retirement in less than two months.

However, some fans that took advantage of that LEGO Star Wars discount were left disappointed just a few short days later, as they received emails telling them that their orders had been cancelled.

“I placed my order basically seconds after the sale started when it was in stock,” wrote ZPac7 on reddit. “Received a confirmation that stated it was being processed but on back order. I just received this email stating it’s cancelled. It’s the only thing I purchased during [Insiders Weekend].”

And they’re not alone. Dozens of other LEGO customers reported similar situations in the comments, many of whom claim to have placed their orders minutes or even seconds after the sale began.

There’s one silver lining for shoppers, though. If you checked out with 75313 AT-AT and earned gifts-with-purchase with your order, those GWPs will still be honoured. That essentially means entirely free LEGO, considering that the UCS AT-AT will be refunded in full if not shipped. Some customers have also been offered compensation in the form of $20 vouchers – although, understandably, the vast majority would have preferred to get the retiring set.

LEGO Star Wars 75313 AT AT sold out 1024x470

In both the UK and the US, 75313 AT-AT is now labelled as ‘Sold out,’ rather than ‘Temporarily out of stock.’ That suggests it’s well and truly gone for good – and a reminder to buy any remaining retiring sets while you still can. We’ve got a full list of everything retiring this year sorted by theme here, to make sure no more disappointments are on the cards.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.

That’s what you get for waiting until the last minute.

Same thing happened to me, but was the next day. First showed up as sold out, but a few hours later came back up as backordered. Ordered it – then 2-3 days later Lego cancelled my order. Shady. I smell a rat.
