LEGO Star Wars May the 4th Insiders Collectible Coin review

LEGO Insiders is offering a unique and very nostalgic LEGO Star Wars collectible coin to help celebrate this year’s May the 4th event.

Alongside a host of other promotions, freebies, gifts-with-purchase and deals running through the May the 4th period, the LEGO Group is offering a LEGO Star Wars Collectible Coin via its Insiders Rewards Centre from May 1 through to May 5, or while stocks last.

Costing 1,500 points, the coin depicts – in full colour print – the original LEGO Star Wars logo that first appeared on box art and in promotional material from when the theme launched back in 1999. It’s an iconic piece of LEGO Star Wars art and is very expertly recreated in this unique way.

Its price of 1,500 points is equivalent to around £8 in money-off vouchers that you could otherwise redeem via the Insiders Rewards Centre. Likewise, earning 1,500 points will have required a spend of around £180.

So is this LEGO Star Wars Collectible Coin worth the spend? Very much so, and even more so than the 1,800 points required to redeem the excellent Joe Hogan-drawn poster that is also available during the same period from the Insiders Rewards Centre.

The coin of course speaks to completionists, be those LEGO Star Wars collectors or Insiders who have been picking up the previous promotional coins produced by the LEGO Group, but it also captures something truly nostalgic for all LEGO Star Wars fans and is perhaps the most charming memento released to mark 25 years of LEGO Star Wars yet.

The coin is a good quality item, very collectible and will be available at a relatively low points threshold from the Insiders Rewards Centre. Make sure you have the points ready for May 1 to pick both this and that poster up. If it’s a choice between the two… we’re leaning towards the coin, actually, but there’s no real wrong choice to make here.

This Star Wars Collectible Coin is available at the Insiders Rewards Centre from May 1 through to May 5, or while stocks last, for a spend of 1,500 Insiders points. There are a host of May the 4th deals at LEGO.com and elsewhere – stay ahead of all the deals at our dedicated May the 4th hub.

Sign up to the Insiders program today to start accumulating points on every LEGO.com and LEGO store purchase you make and head over to the rewards centre to redeem those points for such items as above, or money off vouchers.
