Nine ways to upgrade your LEGO Star Wars minifigures using Pick a Brick

The LEGO Group’s Pick a Brick service is a treasure trove of pieces that can be used to upgrade your new and older LEGO Star Wars minifigures.

The potential in Pick a Brick is immense both for custom builds and upgrading minifigures. The service is full of parts from specific sets that can be used to upgrade existing LEGO Star Wars minifigures with ease. Here are nine that you might want to add to your next order.

Those reading this article later down the line may find that some of these pieces are no longer available on Pick a Brick but rest assured that they are all in stock at the time of writing. To save on delivery and other fees, you might be tempted to order a certain lightsaber gift-with-purchase (minus the display plaque) at the same time.

Baylan Skoll’s upgraded hair and beard

Baylan Skoll’s official minifigure in 75364 New Republic E-Wing vs. Shin Hati’s Starfighter is perfectly good, but his beard and hair are denser than the minifigure suggests. It might be a bit extreme, but one upgrade is to add Mr. Oz’s hair from LEGO DREAMZzz (element ID 6430880).

Less-dense hair for Baylan Skoll

Alternatively, and as long as you don’t mind a darker shade of grey, King Magnifico’s hair (element ID 6464164) is a good fit for Baylan as well. It better matches his hairstyle in the Ahsoka series, without greatly expanding on his beard.

Booted short legs for Ugnaughts, Even Piell and Omega

The black and grey short legs would be suitable for adding more detail to Omega, Even Piell and Ugnaughts. You can find them under element ID 6378773.

More detailed legs for Young Leia

Element ID 6444245 offers a pair of short legs that might be suitable for upgrading Young Leia from 75392 Creative Play Droid Builder. Though her bottoms are quite long in the Kenobi series, these legs would offer more detail to the minifigure effectively.

Booted legs for Captain Antilles and Padme

The brown legs with two shades under element ID 6227249 are great for adding on to Captain Antilles from 75387 Boarding the Tantive IV and Padme from 75354 Coruscant Guard Gunship to add their boots.

Cargo pants for the Phase 2 Clone Trooper Pilots

Though their minifigures haven’t been seen for a while, the Phase 2 Clone Trooper Pilots have some pockets on their blue legs and element ID 6303003 is ideal for an upgrade to them, adding these pockets.

Boots for Commander Sato and First Officer Hawkins

The legs under element ID 6467618 have boots that are a great upgrade to Commander Sato and First Officer Hawkins’ minifigures, and they may be useful for various trooper minifigures too.

Upgraded legs for Imperials everywhere

You can find grey legs with black boots under element ID 6454442 on Pick a Brick. This is perfect for upgrading various Imperial minifigures, even those that already have printed legs.

Booted legs for Admiral Yularen

Rounding out the list with even more legs – element ID 6490255 would be handy in adding boots to Admiral Yularen. While you might think this would be ideal for Thrawn too, his new minifigure already uses this piece.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
