Every LEGO Star Wars set retiring in 2021 and beyond – December update

Three of this summer’s LEGO Star Wars sets will now retire a year earlier than previously expected, including 75315 Imperial Light Cruiser.

Currently the only way to get your hands on Moff Gideon, Fennec Shand and a Dark Trooper, the Mandalorian set depicts the climactic scenes of the show’s second season (save for one spoilerific character). And while it was originally intended to retire in 2023 as recently as October, it’s now one of three sets that will actually leave shelves by the end of 2022.

That’s a lifespan of 18 months, which is pretty typical of any regular retail LEGO set, although a handful of sets that launched at the same time – and some even earlier – are still scheduled to hang around far beyond the end of next year, including 75288 AT-AT, 75312 Boba Fett’s Starship and 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina.

The other two sets that have moved up to a 2022 retirement date are 75314 The Bad Batch Attack Shuttle – currently the only set available based on the Clone Wars spin-off series – and 75316 Mandalorian Starfighter, another summer 2021 set packed with exclusive minifigures. There’s no need to grab them this instant, but it’s worth bumping them up your priority list.

The only other changes to this list from our last update are the additions of 75313 AT-AT, 75320 Snowtrooper Battle Pack, 75321 The Razor Crest Microfighter and 75322 Hoth AT-ST. Mando’s mini ship is slated to be gone within a year, but the rest are all due to stay on shelves until the end of 2023 – for now, anyway.

A total of 20 LEGO Star Wars sets are on the way out this year, meanwhile, and the vast majority of them have already sold out at LEGO.com. You might have better luck finding them through LEGO Stores or third-party retailers (such as Zavvi and Amazon), but if not, your best bet will probably be the aftermarket.

Dive into the full list below, and remember, this is subject to change – at least for 2022 and beyond, as the 2021 list is basically set in stone at this point.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
