LEGO Star Wars’ upcoming UCS set isn’t just any Venator

There are enough details in the newly-spotted LEGO Star Wars 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser for us to identify the specific ship.

LEGO Star Wars 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser has been spotted at a LEGO Store in KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) in Malaysia, giving us our first proper look at the long-awaited UCS model. Even only being able to see the box images has still given away enough clues as to exactly which Venator-class Star Destroyer it’s based on.

Although the UCS plaque labels it only as ‘Venator-class Star Destroyer’, the signature red bridges and the inclusion of Admiral Yularen as one of the two minifigures all but confirm that this is the Resolute, no less than Anakin Skywalker own’s flagship during the Clone Wars. The Resolute was featured in a number of key battles during the Clone Wars, including the Battle of Christophsis, the Malevolence campaign, the Battle of Ryloth, the Battle of Quell, the Second Battle of Geonosis, and the subsequent Battle of Kamino.

It finally met its demise while leading the battle against the Separatist fleet of Dark Acolyte Asajj Ventress in the Sullust system. During the battle, the Resolute was attacked by the Sith-aligned Ventress, taking down several of the vessel’s vital systems and the bridge, resulting in the Resolute’s total destruction – but thankfully not before its crew managed to escape the vessel.

While getting updated versions of both Captain Rex and Admiral Yularen (last seen back in 2015) is a welcome move, it could also have been a great opportunity to see a modern version of Anakin himself in his Clone Wars-era outfit, or even a teenage Ahsoka Tano to go with her new adult version in 75362 Ahsoka Tano’s T-6 Jedi Shuttle. After all, the only Padawan minifigure we have of Ahsoka is the terrifyingly wide-eyed version from the LEGO Star Wars: The Clone Wars theme.

Aside from those minifigure wants, it’s exciting to see that the long-awaited UCS Venator is finally almost here. While the appearance of 75367 Venator-Class Republic Attack Cruiser in Kuala-Lumpur was likely a mistake, the fact that stock is already in stores means we can likely expect an official announcement that confirms the release date and international prices very soon.
