Every LEGO Super Mario set retiring in 2023 and beyond – January update

There’s just over six months left to pick up a handful of retiring LEGO Super Mario sets, while one of the theme’s best sets will leave shelves by the end of the year.

If you’ve been dragging your heels over picking up the LEGO Group’s first buildable console, don’t wait too much longer to add 71374 Nintendo Entertainment System to your collection: the 2,646-piece video game system and retro TV are currently scheduled to retire by the end of 2023. That may seem like a while away, but December will be here before you know it…

Leaving production before then are four of last summer’s expansion sets, including 71407 Cat Peach Suit and Frozen Tower and 71409 Big Spike’s Cloudtop Challenge, as the LEGO Super Mario theme staggers its retiring sets between July and December. Thankfully, you’ve still got plenty of time to buy its other two flagship sets, 71395 Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block and 71411 The Mighty Bowser.

There’s no fear of any of its three starter courses going anywhere, either: Mario, Luigi and Peach should all be available through at least the end of 2026. Given one of those packs is required to work the rest of the theme’s interactive sets, that date is a strong sign that LEGO Super Mario is here for the duration.

Hop down below for the full list of LEGO Super Mario sets organised by their current retirement dates, but remember that nothing here is set in stone. We’ll keep you updated across 2023 if anything changes.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
