LEGO takes over a train for F1 Chinese Grand Prix advert

Our LEGO Agency has taken over an entire train in Shanghai for an advert for the Chinese Formula 1 Grand Prix.

The LEGO Group’s in-house agency, Our LEGO Agency, has kitted out an entire train on Shanghai’s Metro Line 11, which connects the city with the Shanghai International Circuit, with LEGO Formula 1 branding in celebration of the Chinese Grand Prix this weekend.

From the outside, the train makes it look like a flurry of LEGO Formula 1 Speed Champions cars are racing through the city. It appears that every team is included on the train at some point.

On the inside of the trains, travellers can pick their favourite team in various carriages turned into LEGO-fied F1 team pit garages. As well as motorsports trivia, there are over 20 Easter eggs for fans to spot and share online, such as Lewis Hamilton’s late dog Roscoe’s paw prints and a T-pose George Russell minifigure. Those who spot the Easter eggs, share them online, and tag LEGO China will be in with a chance to win prizes.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
