LEGO TikTokker donates over $5,000 worth of LEGO to kids in need

Children at Comer Children’s Hospital will be gifted over $5,000 worth of LEGO sets as the result of charitable efforts on TikTok.

Russell Cassevah, aka @LittleBricksCharityGuy on TikTok, through the nonprofit LittleBricks Charity, is planning to deliver over $5,000 worth of LEGO sets to the kids, driving more than 14 hours from Virginia to deliver them over the past 12 months. Russell quit his job to start LittleBricks Charity, using his platform to fundraise for the charity through creative efforts like setting the Guinness World Record for walking on LEGO bricks three times over.

“We have so many LEGO sets packed up and ready to go. The entire back of our van is filled!” said Russell, who has been documenting the fundraising journey on TikTok. “After breaking my second world record, I found my purpose in life. I traded in everything to help build BIG smiles on children that genuinely deserve to smile.”

Russell went on to describe the upcoming drop-off as “extra special” in a press release shared on Global Newswire.

“Last year, we delivered to Lurie Children’s, and we hope to double our efforts by covering Comer Children’s this trip,” Russell explained. “Everything we have accomplished so far has led to this one epic event. It is a true testament to how amazing of a community you can build on TikTok. A community that cares and wants to change the world one smile at a time. I am looking forward to making this one of our biggest deliveries yet!”

Russell’s supporters on TikTok, made up of over a million followers, has already raised enough for $3,000 worth of LEGO sets, but he hopes to generate even more support at BrickFest LIVE at Tinley Park Convention Center. The hope is to raise at least another $3,000 to purchase more LEGO sets. According to Russell and the Child Life Specialists he works with, LEGO models are the most requested toy for hospitalised children. You can donate to the efforts yourself by heading to the LittleBricks Charity website.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
