LEGO Transformers Optimus Prime set rumoured for 2022

An official LEGO Transformers set recreating the iconic Autobot Optimus Prime is rumoured for later this year with over 1,000 pieces.

Promobricks are reporting that the first LEGO Transformers model is coming in 2022, providing a brick-built figure of Optimus Prime. According to the source, the build will be named 10302 Optimus Prime for €169.99

10302 Optimus Prime is rumoured to include 1,508 elements after a listing was reportedly spotted on electricBricks, which provided names for other sets earlier this year. The build is mentioned to be an 18+ creation and is said to have been listed for an August 1 release date, though the source believes that it could launch three months earlier exclusively to the official online store in May.

The set is rumoured to include Optimus Prime as well as a jetpack and weapon that can be displayed next to a UCS plaque with information similar to the UCS Star Wars models.

As the namesake of the franchise, the rumoured set is also mentioned as transformable between the robotic figure and a truck without having to disassemble the build.

Which version of Optimus Prime this could be based on, from movies to the original appearance, is unknown though the source notes that Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is coming in 2023 with designs based on the classic series, but updated. Promobricks states that the reported set could be delayed to coincide with the film’s also-delayed release date in 2023.

As usual, this rumour has not been officially confirmed by the LEGO Group and should be treated with caution until announced otherwise.
