LEGO Winter Village Holiday Main Street aged like fine wine – but there’s not long left to buy it
LEGO Winter Village 10308 Holiday Main Street broke the mould in many ways – and there are only a few months left to add it to your festive display.
With its muted colour palette and the Powered Up tram, 10308 Holiday Main Street stands out from the rest of the collection. Where previous Winter Village sets were full of colour and festive spirit, 10308 takes a more laidback approach, with nougat, olive green and tan brightened only with a dash of red and green and not many festive accessories on top.
Compare it to the previous year’s 10293 Santa’s Visit, for example, and it’s quite the departure. However, while it might have been a surprise at the time, looking back it appears to be the start of a mini-sub-collection within the LEGO Winter Village series. 2023’s 10325 Alpine Lodge and this year’s 10339 Santa’s Post Office both feature similarly moody colour palettes. While the latter features Santa and his elves, 10325 Alpine Lodge is grounded in the same realistic setting as 10308 Holiday Main Street.
Even if you weren’t convinced by 10308 when it first came out back in 2022, seeing it in the wider picture of LEGO Winter Village sets two years on might help you see how it fits into a bigger festive display. If so, you don’t have long to complete your collection and pick it up, with the set retiring in just a few months’ time.
That means now is the time to grab 10308 Holiday Main Street while you can. While it might not technically retire until the end of the year, the closer we get to Christmas, the more people will be stocking up on festive builds like this one. We’ve already seen popular retiring sets like 75290 Mos Eisley Cantina (now back in stock) and 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition go out of stock in select regions, so there are no guarantees you’ll be able to buy retiring sets right up until December 31.
