LEGOLAND Windsor Resort closes due to coronavirus outbreak

After opening for the 2020 season, the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort will close at the end of today due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Despite the coronavirus outbreak limiting the opening of other venues, shops and attractions, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort opened to the public on March 13 and launched the refreshed DUPLO Valley on March 14. Measures were put in place to reduce the risk of infection from the coronavirus.

As the measures that the UK government has put in place have become tighter, the theme park has now announced that it will close at the end of the day on Friday, March 20, and will not re-open on Saturday, March 21.

Here is the official statement:

Further to recent updates from the Government on the response to the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak, we have taken the very difficult decision to close the LEGOLAND Windsor theme park from 5pm this Friday 20th March as a precautionary measure. The health and wellbeing of our employees and guests is always our priority and we believe that this is the right decision to continue to protect everyone.

The LEGOLAND Windsor Resort Hotel remains open for guests and we will provide updates on our website should this change at any point.

Guests who have booked for dates up to April 25 will be contacted with advice on their options to reschedule or cancel.
