Like the huge Bugatti build inspired by 42083 Bugatti Chiron, this upscaled model is a first in many categories for the LEGO Group, such as the fact that it has been painted using a paintbrush-effect coating applied by Lamborghini’s official car painter – making for a literally and figurately authentic finish.
A short video has been released showcasing the build which is made using only real LEGO pieces and some additional lights to highlight the curves and modern shape of the supercar.
Over 400,000 Technic pieces were used in the creation which took a team of 15 design, engineering and building specialists a total time of 8,660 hours to develop and construct.
“Our designers love a challenge, so you can imagine their delight when we tasked them to think slightly larger than normal with this model,” said Lena Dixen, Senior Vice President of Product and Marketing at the LEGO Group. “They jumped at the chance of teaming up with our amazing designers and engineers from our model production workshop at the Kladno factory in the Czech Republic who build these impressive life-size models, and really push the boundaries of what can be done with LEGO Technic.”
