Limited-time deal on LEGO Indiana Jones Temple of the Golden Idol

Retrieve your own LEGO treasure with this limited-time deal on the retiring LEGO Indiana Jones 77015 Temple of the Golden Idol.

Quite possibly the best LEGO Indiana Jones set we’re ever going to get, 77015 Temple of the Golden Idol is the perfect marriage of playset and display model, compromising neither in form nor functionality to deliver a model that succeeds on pretty much all fronts. That makes it an essential purchase for the discerning Indiana Jones fan, but time is running short to grab yours.

77015 Temple of the Golden Idol is currently slated to retire by the end of 2024, along with the other two LEGO Indiana Jones sets. And while that gives it up to eight months left on shelves, there’s a good chance it will sell out before that – and deals between now and then are not necessarily guaranteed. Apart from at John Lewis right now, anyway, where you can score £26 off this 18+ set.

77015 Temple of the Golden Idol typically retails for £129.99 in the UK, but is available at John Lewis for just £103.99 until April 4 (or while stocks last). That’s a 20% saving on its RRP, which – surprisingly for a licensed LEGO set – is already pretty good to begin with. The Raiders of the Lost Ark model includes 1,545 pieces and four minifigures, while also delivering one of the best building experiences in recent memory.

The finished product is a thing to behold, too: you won’t be able to stop fiddling with its functions, turning the various dials along the front edge of the display base to swing Satipo across the pit, collapse the temple and have the boulder roll after Indy. When you’re done, twist the dials the other way to reset the action with minimal fuss, keeping intact what’s otherwise a beautiful and detailed display piece.

LEGO 18+ sets don’t get much more interactive than this – there’s a lesson in there for LEGO Star Wars – so make sure to grab your copy of 77015 Temple of the Golden Idol while this deal is still available at John Lewis.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
