Make a LEGO skeleton as tall as your house for $2500

Halloween season is upon us, and there’s no better time to make a LEGO skeleton as tall as a house, with comprehensive instructions provided.

Instead of picking up 75419 Death Star for $999.99 next month, you can instead opt to put that money towards an approximately four metre tall LEGO skeleton, designed and built by Haunted Spider on Instructables. You read that correctly, the talented fan not only designed a LEGO skeleton that is 100 times bigger than a standard skeleton minifigure, but they also spent around $1700 building it for a charitable cause.

The builder notes that they were inspired to create this incredible decoration after getting a 3D-printed LEGO skeleton that was 10 times the size of the original minifigure design, but they wanted to make it even bigger. Using wires, foam, saws and much more, they set out to draft and create what is likely the biggest LEGO skeleton on earth.

They state in their comprehensive instructions for the skeleton that the tools and supplies cost them around $1700, but that includes discounted items. They estimate that acquiring everything at a standard price would raise that to at least $2500.

This was created for the Skeletons for St Jude drive for Charity event, of which you can find out more and donate to on their website. With their first Halloween decoration ready, Haunted Spider is even hoping to apply a glow-in-the-dark coating to the huge LEGO skeleton. Assuming that this is 100 times larger than a LEGO skeleton minifigure, as stated, that would make it 4 metres tall, or 157 inches.

Those hoping to create their own giant LEGO skeleton can follow the detailed instructions made available for free on Instructables, but making the huge figure comes with quite a cost. At least you’ll almost certainly have the biggest LEGO skeleton in your community.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
