Marvel Comics artist reacts to new LEGO Iron Man minifigure

The artist behind the Model 64 Iron Man suit has reacted to the exclusive minifigure in the first LEGO Marvel Visual Dictionary.

It was recently revealed that the exclusive minifigure in the first LEGO Marvel Visual Dictionary is an Iron Man minifigure that seems to be heavily based on the Model 64 armour from the Tony Stark: Iron Man comic series.

Following the confirmation, comic book artist Valerio Schiti – who designed the suit – has discovered the minifigure, sharing their positive reaction on Twitter. They appear to be impressed with the homage.

Calling it the peak of their career, Schiti has also shared a look at the concept drawings behind the comic book suit for a full comparison with the minifigure.

The minifigure’s details match up to the comic book armour from the pentagonal arc reactor to the shape of the golden inlay but shortened to the proportions of a minifigure. Unfortunately, there’s no arm printing to capture the details on the arms

The exclusive Iron Man minifigure is included in the LEGO Marvel Visual Dictionary, which is launching on September 19, 2023, for $24.99.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
