Marvel delays future slate of films and pauses production on Blade
Marvel Studios has delayed several of the film studio’s upcoming films and paused production on Blade while they search for a new director.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, release dates for four Marvel films have been pushed back including Fantastic Four and Deadpool 3, which was recently confirmed to be bringing Hugh Jackman back as Wolverine.
The delays are said to be as follows:
Film | Old date | New date |
Blade | November 3, 2023 | September 6, 2024 |
Deadpool 3 | September 6, 2024 | November 8, 2024 |
Fantastic Four | November 8, 2024 | February 14, 2025 |
Avengers: Secret Wars | November 7, 2025 | May 1, 2026 |
The Blade delay is mentioned as being due to production pausing as Marvel Studios searches for a new director for the film. It was previously planned to be helmed by Bassim Tariq.
For LEGO enthusiasts, looking at the partnership between the LEGO Group and Marvel Studios, it’s possible that we’ll see sets for these films and any delays to them will likely affect accompanying models too. Blade already has an exclusive comic-inspired minifigure available now in 76178 Daily Bugle and Wolverine has a new minifigure in 76202 Wolverine Mech Armour.
