Marvel Studios’ What If…? Season 2 episode titles surface online

Rumoured episode titles for the second season of Marvel Studios’ What If…? have appeared online, potentially confirming a LEGO reshuffle from 2021.

Believed to be scheduled for release early in 2024 (but without a confirmed release date as yet), Marvel’s second season of What If…? will take familiar faces in unfamiliar directions. The premise of the show is to explore realities that don’t happen in the MCU, with new decisions or circumstances affecting the path of Earth’s mightiest heroes (and more besides).

Industry insider CanWeGetSomeToast has shared what are believed to be accurate episode titles for season two, although the order of them is apparently subject to change. They are:

  • Episode 201: What If… Nebula Joined the Nova Corps?
  • Episode 202: What If… Peter Quill Attacked Earth’s Mightiest Heroes?
  • Episode 203: What If… Kahhori Reshaped the World?
  • Episode 204: What If… Hela found the Ten Rings?
  • Episode 205: What If… lron Man Crashed into the Grandmaster?
  • Episode 206: What If… Happy Hogan Saved Christmas?
  • Episode 208: What If… Captain Carter Fought the Hydra Stomper?
  • Episode 209: What If… The Avengers Assembled in 1602?
  • Episode 210: What If… Strange Supreme Intervened?

You’ll notice that 207 is missing at the moment, but otherwise, these episodes sound entirely plausible. Indeed, as we already predicted, Episode 205: What If… Iron Man Crashed into the Grandmaster? could explain the existence of 76194 Tony Stark’s Sakaarian Iron Man. This set, released in 2021, could well have been tied to the release of the first season, only to fall out of order due to some internal rejigging from Marvel Studios.

Looking ahead to next year, it doesn’t appear for now that there will be any LEGO Marvel sets tied to the show. At the very least, we’d doubt for there to be another Collectible Minifigures series including minifigures from the animated show, as there was in 2021 with 71031 Marvel Series 1. Seeing as we’ve already had 71039 Marvel Series 2 this year, having three Marvel-focused series in four years might be pushing it – although you never know.

Sets based on 1602 versions of the Avengers would certainly be entertaining. After all, the LEGO Group has been featuring some retro comicbook outfits in 71039 Marvel Series 2 with classic versions of some of the X-Men, so why not push back even further… by a few centuries? Of course, we’ll have to wait and see what the LEGO Group might have in store for us and indeed whether these episode titles are real, so take them with a pinch of salt for now.
